How do you help someone who does not want to be helped!  I know we are supposed to be our brother’s keeper but I am not sure exactly how this work. Most of us try to help our friends and family but in the end I am not sure we can help anyone. I know because I  have tried lots of times and it is hard to know how much you have accomplished. It seems that people need to find their own way in the world. I find that their biggest road block is not our lack help but their self image.

We are bound up by our childhood programs. Most of us do not even know what a program is. We start developing them most likely in the womb and we continue to development them after we are born. It is common knowledge that our major development occurs the first eight years of our lives. During the first eight years we develop our preception of our self image and the world around us. This image of ourselves becomes branded into our subconscious and it determines how we react to ourselves and the environment around us. The amazing part is how easy it happens and how perminent it becomes. There is no changing it until you realize how it got there. You become what you think you are. You and everyone around you had something to do with establishing these programs. What I find even more interesting is that the people around you had more to do with it than you did.

What does this mean? It means that the first eight years of your life dictates how you perceive yourself image for the rest of your life and it dictates how you respond to the people around you and your environment. That first eight years essentially lays the ground work for you futher success or your devestating failures. It has everything to do with who you think you are.

These programs can be changed because we have reason and logic and the ability to see how they establish themselves. It is not the same for animals. They lack reason and logic. Once the program sets in it sets in for life and there is no changing it. If a dog is agressive they are agressive for life. In people it is different because of reason and logic we can change the way we are thinging and therefore change the way we act.

 .

If you think you are smart, you will act smart and you know that you can deal with what ever comes your way. If you think that you are stupid, you will act accordingly and have difficulty dealing with people and your environment. It all starts so innocently nobody seems to realize what is happening. We inadvertently treat the young as though osmosis is going take care of them and what they need to know will just seep into their brains. The worst thing we do is decide what this child's attributes are at a very young age and in a sense we dictate his or her self image. We may very well be the one who molds this child to his fate in life, be that good or bad. The perceived smart ones progress and the dumb ones stay at the back of the class. I know you do not think that it is that simple but I know it is because I was one of the ones at the back of the class. No one thought I was very smart including me. Once that program set in there was no turning back. I played my part perfectly. I hate to say it but I can blame my parents, my friends and my teachers for that because I was like putty in their hands. The people around me treated me like I was stupid and I was not old enough or self confident enough to fight them off.

It was not until I learned what a program was and how they happen that I begin to change. I realized that I was playing the stupid program over and over in my head and I had totally bought into my program. Someone made me realize that I could break that record and start playing a different song in my head. My song became that I am as smart as I want to be and that I am only limited by imagination. The world became a totally different playing field. I begin doing things that I did not think were possible. My life has blossomed ever since and it was as simple as changing my programs. I now orchestrate the thoughts that go into my head and I gaurd against the thoughts that make me less of a person. As it turns out you really are who you think you are and you can become whom ever you want and you truely are only limited by your imagination.
